After drifting away from the beliefs about the bible taught to him by his parents, a young Indian Christian has desire to tell his fellow countrymen to turn from worshipping 'gods' made by their own hands ...

Growing in a Christian home

I was born and brought up in Christian family. I am nineteen years old and I live in Andhra Pradesh state in South India. My father is a village pastor. I have two sisters and I am my parent's only son. As a child I would go to Sunday school regularly and every day we will have family prayers at home. I read scripture at my family devotion and as a child I was in the habit of reading the bible every day.

Sliding away

But as I grew up and started to go to high school I slowly I became to slide away from the Christian beliefs I was brought up with. I started to do friendship with 'bad' friends and sometimes we skipped school and went to the pictures instead. I also stopped reading the bible.

People praying that I would follow Jesus

Anyhow, by the grace of God I passed tenth class and went on to two more years of education. In the first year I got good marks but in the second year I was sick many times and I went to many hospitals. All of our church members were praying from me. Many times I had thought to get a job to earn a lot of money for my own enjoyment. But I didn't know that my parents had dedicated me to the ministry of Jesus Christ when I was born.

Two paths lay before me

While I was in my sickbed, I dreamed I saw a man beside of my bed. He looks so horrible and in a loud voice this man said to me, "I will take you with me to a place where it is burning." After that I heard a different voice that said, "Follow me." Suddenly I woke up from my dream and I called my parents. When they came I told them what had happened in my dream and they told be how they had dedicated me to Jesus when I was born. They told me I should do the Lord's work and not follow my own desires for pleasure. Then and there I committed my life to Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord. I confessed all my sins and transgressions that were against God's will.

Man made gods ...

Totally I gave my life to Jesus Christ and to do His Great Commission of all hearing about the love of God so they too make become disciples. I pray that those living in my area may turn from worshipping idols to worshipping the living God. As the bible says; "Man made gods are no gods at all" (Acts 19:26, NLT). I have been performing different ministry activities that have included Sunday School. By the grace of God, I was saved from going to hell. In my life I seek to the follow the will of my Lord and God.
