Milan was a rebel soldier who had a price on his head and was on the military's "most wanted" list. He was wanted 'dead or alive'. Milan was part of a liquidation squad. He was captured and sent to prison. In prison, a woman told him about Jesus. Now Milan tells others about Jesus and what 'tough' love really means.
As a boy, I dreamed of becoming a soldier. At a young age I left home, eager to prove that I could make my way in the world by myself.
I became a member of a rebel group in my home country. I began using guns and a hand-held bayonet in man-to-man combat against our sworn enemy, the government military. At that time I served as part of a personal defence guard for a high-level leader in our organization. I was part of a liquidation squad.
After a number of years, I was imprisoned for the first time. My father paid for my release. But my lifestyle did not change. Returning to my old buddies, I lived the life of a fugitive for over 10 years. I was on the military's "most wanted" list. They offered a price for me, dead or alive.
Early one morning, I heard a gunshot. I knew I was the target. A bullet hit my chest, but bounced off a round medallion I was wearing otherwise I would have been killed. Another bullet struck me. Surrounded by military men, I surrounded and was taken to a government hospital to recovery.
I was sent to prison where I started to see that my life lacked purpose, real direction and meaning. In prison, I decided to attend a Bible study led by Margaret2 a woman who was beginning an outreach in our prison. As the Word of God began to speak to me, I saw my need for a Saviour. I accepted the price Jesus paid for me.
After more than 5 years in prison, I was released. I began sharing with others about how God's truth sets you free. I know what it is to be forgiven a nightmare past and to be given a new life. This is why I want others to find the joy that I have in Jesus Christ. As a young man I tried to prove to everyone that was a tough and capable soldier. But now I am a soldier for Christ.
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:10).
God will also help you through difficult situations,
