Let things be gone from yesterday
Jesus said “For your enemies pray”
If we bring things in our brand new day,
These things that should have gone away
These things made us into slaves,
Do we want to take them to our graves?

Our God wants us to really know
A freedom that comes from letting go
If we want to have this joy of living
It’s oh, - so hard if we’re unforgiving

This human trait that’s is us all
It’s in the great
It’s in the small

Dear Lord, help us to see
We need you to have this victory
Help us forgive each tiny wrong
The moment that it comes along

For we too can play a part
In wounding someone else’s heart

If we want to have this joy of living
It’s oh, - so hard if we’re unforgiving
