Poems by Louise. Closing The Door is a powerful poem about turning from darkness to light.
Closing The Door
Closing the Door
You’re a wicked foe
I never could trust
Many years after you did I lust
You lied to me
And poisoned my soul
Invaded my mind and took full control
I’m forsaking you
I’m saying goodbye
The darkness came from your deception and lies
It’s over now
I’m leaving you
This time I promise it’s really true
I’m closing the door
It’s come to an end
Never to open it for you again
I’m turning to
The God I love
The One who lives in heaven above
He cares for me
And is my help
Never to leave me all by self
And when you come
Knocking at my door
Looking to destroy me some more
I will not listen
I will turn away
In the arms of my Father I will stay
The chains of bondage
Are broken today
And so they will be forever always
Because of Jesus
And His love for me
Is the reason why I am free!
It’s over now
I’m leaving you
This time I promise it’s really true
I’m closing the door
It’s come to an end
Never to open it for you again
My Dear Sister Karen
I am so grateful to the Lord
For allowing us to meet
You’ve been an encouragement in my life
A blessing and joy to me.
I pray that you continue to grow in the Lord
And are filled with more faith every day
And that you draw nearer and nearer to God
And you please Him in every way
I pray that the Lord’s face shines upon you
As He showers you with mercy and grace
That He strengthens you daily and lifts you up
And His promises you embrace.
I pray that the Lord fills up your heart
With His love for all mankind
And that your life will be an example
That brings many souls to the Vine
I pray that your love may abound more and more
In wisdom and understanding
That you are filled with the fruits of His Spirit
And do all that Lord is commanding
May all that you do, be done in the Spirit
And done of a humble mind
May you exhibit the love of Christ
Being tender hearted and kind.
My prayer is to see you strong in the faith
Suffering for the sake of the Lord
Knowing those sufferings glorify God
And please Him so the much more
Praying you put on the whole armor of God
That you may withstand in the evil day
The gospel of peace your feet having shod
Walking righteously in the way
Peace be to you, dear sister Karen
And love with faith from our Lord
Grace be with you all of your days
As you take up the mighty Sword
Praying for you, my sister in Jesus
That you endure until the end
And the words that the Lord will speak to you
Are “well done my faithful friend”
Please know my prayers are with you Karen
I’m grateful for all you do
You are my friend, my sister in Christ
And I really do truly love you!
I will trust in You
I will trust in You, O Lord
When trials come, I'll trust Your Word.
I will not doubt nor question You,
Because I know Your Word is true.
No matter how difficult things may be,
I will press on and trust in Thee.
I will rejoice and give You praise
My voice to You, I will raise.
I will trust in You, O King,
With my whole heart, my everything.
The times when I begin to doubt,
I'll lift my eyes to You and shout.
"It's You my God, who carries me through,
No matter what, I'll trust in You!
No matter what my eyes may see,
I'll walk by faith and trust in Thee!"
I will trust in You, O God.
In Your footsteps I will trod.
Doesn't matter where they lead,
I will follow faithfully.
Through the valleys, over the hills,
In darkened times, I'll trust You still.
Through all the trials, whatever they may be,
In everything, I will trust in Thee!
This Life that I live
This Life that I live, belongs to You,
I surrendered it years ago.
All that I am and say and do,
I give You complete control.
This life that I live, may it glorify,
Your holy and precious Name.
This flesh that I am, will I crucify,
For it only brings me shame.
This life that I live, submitted to You,
I lay down before Your throne.
Allowing in me, You to live through,
My life is not my own.
This life that I live, desiring to please,
Striving to do what is right.
Spending each day down on my knees,
Seeking Your will every night.
This life that I live, living by faith,
Yearning to be holy and pure.
Trusting in Your mercy and grace,
Sufferings able to endure.
This life that I live, longing to be,
A reflection of Your love.
Displaying Jesus to all I see,
Glorifying Your name above.
This life that I live, down here below,
I live to serve and obey.
On me, daily, Your grace You bestow
To help keep me above the fray.
This life that I live, until I die,
Will I spend in devotion to You.
Until I meet You in the sky,
Raised gloriously and changed anew!
