BRINGING GOOD NEWS TO INDIA

Pastor Chaitanya Kumar knows the good news that Jesus died for his sins and rose from the dead. He wants to share this good news with everyone in India.

Coming to know Jesus

I was born on 26 January 1964 and hail from Kovvali of Denduluru Mandal, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. My parents accepted Jesus Christ in the year 1954. I am their first son, and they named me Samuel John. I accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 16 years. I have respect for all the doctrines in the bible, as the bible is the Word of God.

Dedicated to the service of God

I am the first of my brothers and sisters to become a Christian and even before my birth my parents dedicated me for God's work. I was brought up in a Christian atmosphere. I used to attend Sunday Schools, Youth Leagues, and worship services in our church along with open-air crusades, too.

Study is important

I studied up to X Std. (10th grade) in Yernagudem village and XII Std. (12th grade) in Eluru; and I graduated from Andhra Christian College at Guntur. Then I enrolled at Andhra University in Waltair to do my Post Graduate studies. I received my M.A. in Philosophy coming first in my class, and even received a Gold Medal and many cash awards. Later, I received another Masters Degree in Education from Andhra University.

Praying for God to show me His will

While I was studying for my Masters in Philosophy, my parents reminded me of my dedication to God. My intuitive knowledge touched me very much to become the "Servant of God". I spent hours in prayer seeking the will of GOD for me. His voice spoke to my spirit, "The Lord has a specific purpose for you and you should become the servant of God." I was thrilled and moved that the Spirit of God spoke to me. From that point on, there was a total change in my thinking for my future plans. I completed a Masters in Education at Andhra University in Waltair. Upon completion of my studies for the two Masters Degrees, I was selected to work as a Lecturer in the Gokul College of Education in Nalgonda.

God blessed me with a family

While I was working as a Lecturer, I met Sarah Sujani Aparanji and later married her on 11 May 1990. In addition to bringing my lovely wife, Sarah, into my life, God has blessed us with two beautiful and bright daughters, Grace Roseline and Rebecca Angeline.

Obeying God

During my leisure time, I used to go out to preach the Gospel to the people in the villages around Nalgonda Town. I used to organize prayer cells, Youth Camps, and Sunday school competitions. However, I was not satisfied with the ministry I was doing. One night as I waited upon the Lord in prayer to guide me according to His will, His Spirit told me to "resign your job and take up my yoke." I shared my personal experience with my friends and relatives about the call of God. Some told me that being a highly qualified man, I could get a good salary and position anywhere; but my wife, parents, and relatives advised me to obey the will of God. I thought, "At His appointed season, He brought His Word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the Command of God our Saviour." This became my thinking and commitment. So, I resigned my Lecturing job and took up the ministry of the Gospel and Social Work in our area.

Telling others and helping orphans and widows

In 1993 I selected Tadepalligudem in Andhra Pradesh to be the center from which I would start my ministry. The Lord Jesus gave a Commission: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15)." I also believed this Word: "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world (James 1:27)." My desire then and now is to be a servant of His Great Commission. Besides the Church for the Distant Ministries, I have also established the Child Rural Relief Organization to provide education, medical care, and nourishment to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Help us!
Pray for us!

Now my fellow pastors and co-workers are working in the villages and tribal areas of Andhra Pradesh. For the sake of the glory of God, we are working hard to tell others about the love that Jesus has for them. Please pray for my family and our ministry as we continue to pray for you all. And please prayerfully consider sponsoring our ministry. India desperately needs Jesus Christ!

"Then He (Jesus) said to them, 'the harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that He may send out laborers into His harvest."

(Luke 10:2, World English Bible)
